KIMBA at Hannover Messe 2026: Bridging Research and Industry
Published on April 30, 2026
Hannover, April 2026 – "Proven. Successful. AI in Engineering": Under this motto, the KIMBA project presented its latest breakthroughs at this year's Hannover Messe. The event served as a major platform to demonstrate how advanced research is being translated into practical industrial applications.
Bridging Research and Industry The KIMBA project team showcased how AI can master the increasing complexity of modern systems engineering. In collaboration with partners from RWTH Aachen University and BMW Group the team presented prototypes that have already been validated in real-world industrial environments:
Automated Modeling: Generating system models from requirements directly into SysML v2.
Intelligent Analysis: An AI-powered chatbot for rapid system model evaluation.
Efficient Testing: AI-based test case generation to accelerate validation processes. ** Expert Exchange and Networking** The presentation drew significant interest from industry experts and featured insights from our project partners. Representing the collaborative spirit of KIMBA, Bastian Menninger (CSE Aachen), Dirk Fleischer (BMW), Simon Dehn, Matthias May, and Vincent Quast (all RWTH Aachen University) were present to engage with the professional community and discuss the future of AI-driven engineering. The event highlighted a key takeaway: successful AI implementation in the industry depends on structured data and strong, interdisciplinary partnerships.
What is Hannover Messe? For our international audience: Hannover Messe is the world's leading industrial trade fair. Held annually in Germany, it is the global premier for "Industry 4.0," where the biggest names in manufacturing, technology, and research meet to define the future of digital ecosystems.
Next Stop: REConf 2026 Building on the momentum from Hannover, the team is already heading to REConf (hosted by HOOD). We look forward to continuing the dialogue on Requirements Engineering and AI compliance with the community!
